The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Learnpally Education to deepen digital learning across Africa.
The partnership, announced in Akure, Ondo State, will launch two pilot certificate programmes on the Learnpally platform — Data Analysis with Excel and Cybersecurity, Framework and Governance.
The cybersecurity course will run in three modules, covering fundamentals, risk management, frameworks, governance, ethics, and compliance. Both courses will be certified by FUTA and available to learners across Africa and beyond.
Knowledge Beyond Borders
FUTA Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, said the collaboration reflects the university’s vision of expanding technology-driven education.
“At FUTA, we are dedicated to shaping Africa’s future through technology-driven education. Partnering with Learnpally allows us to extend our knowledge base to a global audience while empowering students and professionals with industry-relevant skills,” she said.
She also revealed that FUTA students and alumni will enjoy discounts of up to 70%.
The co-founder and CEO of Learnpally, Aboluwarin Olaoluwa Kitan David, hailed the MoU as a turning point for higher education in Africa.
“Our mission is to make leading universities in emerging markets globally competitive in the digital age. This MoU with FUTA is a milestone in that journey,” he said.
Making Nigerian Knowledge Global
According to David, Learnpally’s education arm helps universities digitise their courses and distribute them to a pan-African and international audience.
The firm also supports postgraduate financing in Europe and North America through Learnpally Finance.
He added: “Under the revenue-sharing agreement, FUTA and its faculty will earn from the programmes, while Learnpally provides the technology, marketing, and certification backbone.”
Both parties agreed that the partnership would not only advance global access to Nigerian education but also position the country as a digital knowledge hub.
