The Federal Character Commission (FCC) just promoted 375 staff members. The Acting Executive Chairman, Hon. Kayode Oladele, approved the promotions.
Eight Deputy Directors moved up to Director positions, and other staff members advanced to higher levels. With these new promotions, the commission now has 42 directors, with each zone having seven.
Hon. Oladele congratulated the newly promoted staff, emphasizing the management’s dedication to staff welfare, fairness, and transparent career paths. He encouraged the new directors to see their promotions as an opportunity to enhance service delivery, promising to increase the number of directors so each state can have one.
“To whom much is given, much is expected; therefore, I want to congratulate all of you and encourage you to always put in your best in ensuring that the commission achieves its constitutional mandate.” Oladele said.
He expressed hope that the changes would motivate staff to excel in their duties.
Merit-Driven Promotions
Chizea Christopher Chukwudi, the Director of Public Affairs and Communication, stated that it was essential to maintain a promotion system based on fairness and merit in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to foster excellence, efficiency, and professionalism.
Chukwudi also said the promotions followed all Civil Service rules and guidelines closely. He noted that this was a significant move, underscoring the commission’s dedication to fairness, meritocracy, and organisational efficiency, thus boosting staff morale and the commission’s credibility.
The FCC, he claims, is taking steps to ensure that all staff feel valued and motivated to contribute to the organisation’s goals. It remains committed to seeing significant improvements in service delivery nationwide.
The FCC is the constitutionally-mandated body charged with the responsibility of ensuring there is balance and fairness in the distribution of public service jobs across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
