Adeleke Honored with Good Governance Award and Inducted into NBR Hall of Fame

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State recently received the 2025 Nigerian Icon of Good Governance Award. This honor, given by the Nigerian Books of Record (NBR), acknowledged his dedication to being open, accountable, and serving the people.

The award presentation took place on August 28 in Ede, Osun State.

Professor David David, the Director General of NBR, explained that the award recognizes leaders who make a real difference through impactful policies in areas like infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.

“By honouring leaders like Governor Adeleke, we inspire others to use power for national development, minimize corruption, and foster transparency,” he said.

The Hall of Fame induction is a reserved honor for those who have left a truly meaningful imprint on Nigeria’s progress.

Governor Adeleke’s Action Plan

Adeleke has been busy since he took office in November 2022. He introduced a five-point agenda targeting key areas: workers’ welfare, infrastructure refreshment, social policies, economic boosting, and growth in agricultural industries.

His team has completed road works, improved health centres, expanded welfare programs, and cleared old pension debts. These efforts have also resulted in reducing the state’s debt while boosting internal revenue.

In his heartfelt acceptance speech, the governor thanked the NBR and the people of Osun, promising to maintain what he called an “unmatched legacy of performance.”

The ceremony was packed with influential attendees, including the Deputy Governor of Osun, State Executive Council members, the Speaker and House of Assembly members, royal figures, and business leaders.

Governor Adeleke’s administration seems to be on a promising path, blending social policies with economic growth to benefit the people of Osun State.

His commitment to development in different sectors has drawn attention and recognition, setting a standard for good governance.
