Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has taken a new bride, adding a fourth wife to his household.
The private wedding took place last Saturday in Abuja. Only close family and trusted friends were invited. No fanfare, no press—just a quiet celebration.
His third wife, Hafiza Bello, broke the news on Instagram. She shared a video from the ceremony and wrote: “Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs Hiqma Yahaya Bello.”
Hiqma, the new bride, joins a family already made up of Amina Oyiza, Rashida, and Hafiza Bello. The former governor, now 50, governed Kogi State from 2016 to 2024 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was Nigeria’s youngest sitting governor when he took office. Known for his tough stance on security and youth empowerment, Bello also kept his personal life mostly out of the spotlight.
The new marriage comes amid ongoing legal battles. Bello is currently facing ₦80.2 billion money laundering charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
