Iga Swiatek delivered a masterclass at Wimbledon, beating Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes.
It was the most lopsided women’s final at Wimbledon in 114 years, and the first double-bagel final since 1911. With this, Swiatek now holds six Grand Slam titles—winning all six major finals she has played.
The 24-year-old becomes only the second woman in the Open Era to win a major final without dropping a game, after Steffi Graf did so at the 1988 French Open.
“It feels unreal. This moment has always been a dream,” said Swiatek after lifting the trophy on Centre Court.
Swiatek Never Gave Anisimova a Chance
Anisimova had come into the final with strong momentum, having knocked out world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the semis. But on Saturday, she was a shadow of herself.
From the very first point, she couldn’t match Swiatek’s intensity. The Polish eighth seed broke her in the opening game, raced to a 3-0 lead, and took the first set 6-0 in 25 minutes.
Anisimova, the 13th seed, managed just six points on her serve in the first set. She also committed 14 unforced errors.
“It was a very hard day for me,” Anisimova admitted, fighting back tears after the match. “But all credit to Iga. She played like a wall.”
Wimbledon Gets New Champion Once Again
The second set followed the same pattern. Swiatek broke again early and refused to let Anisimova find any rhythm. Even when the crowd tried to lift the American, Swiatek stayed focused and relentless.
She sealed the victory with a clean service game and then walked over to comfort her opponent before celebrating.
Anisimova left the court briefly before returning for the trophy ceremony.
Swiatek’s win also continues a recent trend—she becomes the eighth straight first-time women’s Wimbledon champion since Serena Williams last won it in 2016.
Her triumph is a reminder of how wide open women’s tennis has become, but also of Swiatek’s steady rise as a dominant force.
