APC Release Bye-Election Timetable, Sets Senate Form at ₦20m

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rolled out the full schedule and fees for its 2025 bye-election primaries.

According to a timetable signed by National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, nomination forms for Senate seats will cost ₦20 million.

Aspirants for House of Representatives will pay ₦10 million in total.

Full Breakdown of Fees and Discounts

Senate aspirants will pay ₦3 million for the Expression of Interest Form and ₦17 million for the Nomination Form.

Those aiming for the House of Reps will pay ₦1 million for Expression of Interest and ₦9 million for Nomination.

State House of Assembly hopefuls are to pay a total of ₦2 million.

That includes ₦500,000 for Expression of Interest and ₦1.5 million for Nomination.

“Women and persons living with disabilities are only required to pay for the Expression of Interest Form,” the APC said.

They will receive the Nomination Form for free.

Young aspirants aged 25 to 40 will enjoy a 50% discount on the Nomination Form fee.

Strict Requirements for Delegates and Aspirants

Party delegates who wish to vote during the primaries must be financially active members.

They are expected to have paid a monthly due of ₦200 for at least three months.

Delegate forms cost ₦5,000.

Argungu warned that “only those who have paid their dues for at least one year up to July 2025 and whose names appear on the party register will be eligible.”

Aspirants must also meet these criteria to contest.

Important APC Dates for the 2025 Bye-Elections

The APC timetable provides a roadmap for the election process:

June 30 – Election notice to state chapters
July 1–5 – Membership revalidation and sale of forms
July 7 – Form submission deadline
July 10 – Aspirant screening
July 22–26 – Primaries
July 26 – Final list of candidates
July 26–Aug 14 – Campaign period
August 16 – Bye-elections

Argungu assured that the process would be lawful and open.

“The party is committed to conducting transparent primaries that comply with the Electoral Act,” he said.

He called on all aspirants to play by the rules and get their financial status and documentation in order.
