AMCON Lists Prime Properties for Sale Across Nigeria

The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) is inviting competitive bids for a new wave of property sales across the country.

Properties are available in Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, Plateau, and Rivers states. They include commercial buildings, warehouses, and residential units.

This initiative is part of AMCON’s continued effort to resolve non-performing assets acquired from failed loans in financial institutions.

In Oyo State, AMCON is offering a large warehouse and office block located at Km 9, Old Lagos Road, Podo, Ibadan.

The 12,802-square-metre property includes a generator house, security post, and external toilet block.

In Lagos, a property at 3 Sawyer Crescent, Gbagada, near Corona School is also listed. Though built as a residence, it can serve as an office or school with proper approvals.

In Jos, Plateau State, the former Hotel Sumiram and Green Restaurant is up for grabs. The property features guest rooms, service areas, a karaoke bar, poolside, and garden, spanning 2,568 square metres.

Major Abuja Property and Port Harcourt Lots Also Listed

One of the most prominent assets on offer is a five-storey commercial block within the Silverbird Entertainment Centre Mall, Abuja.

Located in the Central Area, the property offers 15,650 square metres of lettable space.

AMCON took possession of the mall in 2016 over outstanding debts owed by the Silverbird Group.

In Rivers State, warehouse and office facilities located along Aba Road and Okporo Road in Port Harcourt are also up for sale.

The portfolio includes multiple residential buildings—three-bedroom flats and detached duplexes in various states.

“These properties will be sold through a competitive bidding process,” AMCON said.

It also confirmed that “bids are to be submitted no later than July 11,” and that “the bid opening schedule will be announced later.”

Details and submission procedures are available on AMCON’s official website.

This renewed sale effort follows the federal government’s reconstitution of AMCON’s board.

The restructured board is tasked with improving asset recovery and driving better management of bad debts.

The agency is under increasing pressure to recover billions in unresolved loans by selling forfeited or acquired properties.
