Napoli Recall Victor Osimhen for Pre-Season Under Antonio Conte

Victor Osimhen has been officially recalled by Napoli to return for pre-season training ahead of the 2025/2026 Serie A season.

The Nigerian striker received a letter from the club, summoning him to their training centre in Castel Volturno. The session will begin on July 15, under the watchful eye of new manager Antonio Conte.

Osimhen, who was loaned to Turkish side Galatasaray for ten months, will become a Napoli player again from midnight on Monday, when the loan expires.

His return marks a turning point for both the club and the player, whose paths had seemed to diverge just months ago.

The striker had left Naples amid uncertainty and disappointment.

Saudi Move That Never Happened

Before his temporary switch to Turkey, Osimhen was on the verge of a high-profile move to Saudi Arabia.

However, the deal fell through in its final stages due to a disagreement over transfer fees. Napoli demanded more money, despite advanced negotiations.

The failed move left the forward unsettled. His departure to Galatasaray soon followed, giving him a new challenge away from the tension in Italy.

The Turkish league gave Osimhen time to play and focus again, but his return now opens up new possibilities.

€75 Million Clause Hangs Over His Future

Osimhen’s current contract with Napoli runs until June 2026. However, a €75 million release clause remains active.

That clause gives Osimhen until July 15, 2025 to secure a permanent move elsewhere — if a club matches that valuation.

Whether any team will meet the price remains uncertain. But several top European and Middle Eastern clubs have reportedly maintained interest in the Nigerian star.

For now, Osimhen must answer Napoli’s call and prepare to return to a club still undergoing change.

Conte’s Project Could Use Osimhen’s Fire

Antonio Conte is beginning his tenure at Napoli with a focus on strength, discipline, and results.

Osimhen — known for his hunger, speed, and finishing — could become the cornerstone of Conte’s attack if he remains.

The manager is expected to assess Osimhen closely in the pre-season camp and decide how he fits into the system.

But with the player’s contract and transfer options looming in the background, time will tell whether the partnership will last.
