The United States embassy building in Tel Aviv was slightly damaged following a missile strike from Iran early Monday. According to US Ambassador Mike Huckabee, no American personnel were injured.
He wrote on X: “Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in @TelAviv but no injuries to US personnel.”
Iran launched the missiles in direct response to Israeli airstrikes on its territory, which reportedly targeted military and nuclear sites. Explosions rocked various parts of Tel Aviv, and the Israeli army warned residents to take shelter as the missiles approached.
Photos taken across the coastal city showed several buildings destroyed or heavily damaged. While the blast impact affected the embassy building, US authorities confirmed all embassy staff were safe.
The US embassy in Jerusalem remained closed throughout the day, with a lockdown order in place. Ambassador Huckabee confirmed the decision and stated that staff were told to “shelter in place.”
Tensions Escalate Between Iran and Israel After Latest Attacks
The situation marks a dangerous new phase in the decades-long hostility between the two countries. Iran’s overnight missile strike was in retaliation for Israel’s earlier air raids that reportedly hit deep inside Iranian territory. Israel claimed the attacks killed top Iranian commanders and nuclear experts.
This exchange has raised fears of a prolonged war that could destabilise the wider Middle East. The back-and-forth threats from both governments suggest more violence could follow.

US President Donald Trump, who remains deeply involved in international political discussions, commented on the recent developments. A senior American official said Trump privately advised Israel not to carry out an assassination plot targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday, Trump urged both nations to seek peace. “Sometimes they have to fight it out first,” he said. “But eventually they need to make a deal.”
While calls for restraint have come from other global leaders, the latest developments indicate that neither Iran nor Israel is ready to back down. Diplomatic sources believe the next few days will determine if the fighting turns into a full-blown war or retreats into another cycle of uneasy calm.
