Governor Hope Uzodimma has praised two key projects in Imo State nearing completion. These are the Assumpta Cathedral Flyover and the Chukwuma Nwoha Road.
He called them “engineering masterpieces” and “symbols of excellence that will redefine urban mobility in Owerri.”
The governor said the flyover was designed to solve heavy traffic at the Control Post. He said every part of the project—from its structure to finish—meets global standards.
“We are not just building a bridge,” Uzodimma said. “We are delivering a lasting solution that will stand the test of time.”
He thanked the contractors for following the agreed standards. He also praised their dedication to completing the work on time.
Chukwuma Nwoha Road to Boost Safety and Local Economy
Governor Uzodimma said the newly completed Chukwuma Nwoha Road is already helping businesses and improving road safety.
The road runs from Orji Flyover to MCC Junction. It is now a smooth dual carriageway with solar street lights and a modern drainage system.
“This road has already begun to stimulate economic activity,” the governor said. “It eases travel and supports business along the corridor.”
He said the road is proof of his administration’s focus on development. “We are committed to changing road infrastructure in Imo State, one project at a time,” he said.
Uzodimma added that the state’s roads must support economic growth and daily life. He said his government will not stop until all parts of the state feel the impact.
Imo Residents Praise Governor’s Development Efforts
Many residents have praised the governor for completing the projects. Mrs Chiamaka Nwosu said the governor is “God sent.”
A transport worker, Mr Phillip Njoku, said, “Governor Uzodimma has surprised everyone.” He prayed for God to give him more strength to continue serving the people.
The flyover and road projects are seen as major improvements for the people of Owerri. They will make life easier for commuters, traders, and drivers.
