About Unity Schools in Nigeria

Unity schools, or more correctly called Federal Government Colleges, were initially established by the British colonial government, but the concept was further developed after Nigeria gained independence in 1960.

They were created to foster national unity and cohesion by bringing together students from different geographic, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.

These schools aim to provide high-quality education and build Nigeria’s future by promoting national integration among young students.

Today, there are 104 Federal Unity Schools across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
