The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has teamed up with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to modernize its examination processes and upgrade its ICT infrastructure.
The partnership was formalized on April 29 during a meeting at NABTEB headquarters in Benin, according to the board’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Aminu Mohammed.
Dr. Mohammed explained that the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s directive to fully digitize examinations by 2026.
“NABTEB is a leading national examination body responsible for registration, question paper development, exam conduct, result processing, and certification,” he said.
The board requires a modern ICT setup to meet its mandate efficiently, especially as Nigeria pushes for technology-driven education reforms.
NASENI’s Commitment to Infrastructure Upgrade
Dr. Mohammed recalled his earlier discussion with NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Khalil Halilu, in Abuja. During the meeting, Halilu pledged full support for NABTEB’s digital transformation.
“NASENI will provide a fully equipped ICT building for NABTEB within six months,” Mohammed stated, praising Halilu’s dedication.
Mr. Bashir Aliyu, Special Adviser on Emerging Technology at NASENI, reassured NABTEB of the agency’s commitment.
“We are here to help you digitize. ICT is the way forward, and we will support your leap into full automation,” Aliyu said.
Boosting Exam Security and Efficiency
Dr. Mohammed said he was optimistic that NASENI’s intervention would strengthen NABTEB’s operational efficiency and ensure the integrity of its examinations.
He said the transition to digital testing would reduce human errors, speed up result processing, and create a seamless experience for candidates nationwide.
