The United Kingdom has reopened its visa application centre (VAC) in Enugu, months after closing it in November 2024 as part of a nationwide restructuring of visa services.
Last year, the UK consolidated its operations and launched its largest visa facility in Lagos, managed by VFS Global. The move led to the shutdown of VACs in Enugu and Port Harcourt, forcing applicants to travel to Lagos or Abuja for visa processing.
The closures affected many Nigerians, particularly those in the Southeast and South-South regions.
On Wednesday, the British High Commission confirmed that visa services have resumed in Enugu, offering applicants more accessibility and convenience.
A statement from VFS Global read: “Residents of Enugu, Nigeria, can now enjoy a smooth UK visa process from the comfort of our Premium Application Centre at Omedel Luxury Hotel.”
Visa applications will now be processed at Omedel Luxury Hotel, Enugu. Meanwhile, Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt will handle applications for Rivers State residents.
This reopening restores application centers previously managed by TLScontact, allowing Nigerians outside Abuja and Lagos easier access to UK visa services.
