Nigerian preacher, Prophet David Uche, has blamed the government for the rising attacks by alleged killer herdsmen in parts of the country.
He said the killings are not random or surprising but part of a plan to distract Nigerians from the country’s economic struggles.
According to him, “This is a ploy to shift people’s focus from inflation, hunger, and joblessness. Instead of protesting the economy, they will now fight for survival.”
Killings have reportedly increased in Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa, and parts of the South-East and South-South regions.
Communities Urged to Defend Themselves
The cleric advised local communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt, East, and South-South to organize and defend themselves.
“Form vigilante groups. Protect your homes. If you wait for the government, your communities will be wiped out,” he said.
He also referenced biblical stories to back up his message.
Reading from Nehemiah 4:9–15, he said the Israelites had to stay armed even during peaceful times to guard against possible attacks.
Prophet Uche added that “Even Jesus Christ, towards the end of his time on earth, once told his disciples to carry swords.”
He insisted that African leaders do not truly care about the people, saying, “They’ll do anything to stay in power. They killed to get there, and they’ll kill again to remain there.”
A Frightening Vision
During the sermon, Prophet Uche also shared a disturbing vision he claimed to have seen.
“I saw an African leader make a careless speech that led to massive bloodshed. There was complete breakdown of law and order,” he said.
He refused to name the country but warned that things could get worse if leaders are not held accountable.
He called on Nigerians to remain alert and spiritually prepared.
In the past few weeks, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State confirmed that Boko Haram has resumed attacks in some communities.
Over 200 deaths were reported in recent violent incidents in Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Enugu, Ondo, and other parts of the country.
