Bisola Kola-Daisi, the eldest daughter of former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, has passed away at 42. She died in the United Kingdom after a brief illness.
Bisola, fondly called Abi-KD, was a Special Adviser to the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu. She was also a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist.
Her father, Abiola Ajimobi (1949–2020) served as the Governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019. He was the first governor of the state to win a second term. Before politics, he had a successful career in the oil and gas industry, rising to become the Managing Director of National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company (now Conoil).
He was also a Senator from 2003 to 2007. Ajimobi was known for infrastructure projects and urban renewal in Oyo State. He passed away in 2020 in the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic due to COVID-related complications.
A Life of Achievement and Service
Born on March 12, 1981, Bisola was a woman of many talents. She attended the British School of Lomé, where she became fluent in French.
She later moved to the United States, earning an AA Degree from Santa Monica College, a bachelor’s degree in finance from California State University, and an MBA from the UK. In 2022, she completed a Master’s program at Harvard Business School on the power of positive influence.
She worked as a Senior Manager at Victoria’s Secret before returning to Nigeria for her National Youth Service. She later joined Saje Shipping, a subsidiary of MRS Oil and Gas, as Senior Manager for Finance and Administration.
Bisola was the founder of Florence H Luxury and the Chairman/CEO of Grandex Nigeria Limited. Her contributions to the fashion and business sectors were widely recognized.
She was also deeply committed to philanthropy. She founded the AKD Foundation and AKD Kids Foundation to support orphans and homeless children in Nigeria. Additionally, she was a patron of the ABC Foundation, a charity established by her mother, Florence Ajimobi.
Family and Tributes
Bisola was married to Kolapo Kola-Daisi, the son of Ibadan billionaire industrialist Kola Daisi. The couple, who wed in 2010, had three children. Their wedding in Ibadan was a grand affair attended by dignitaries and loved ones.

Former Oyo State Senator Teslim Folarin confirmed her passing on Facebook, saying:
“I am deeply saddened to receive the news of the passing of Mrs. Bisola Kola-Daisi (Nee Ajimobi). Bisola’s untimely death has left an unfillable void in our hearts. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Ajimobi family, particularly former First Lady, H.E Florence Ajimobi. May God grant us the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May Bisola’s soul rest in perfect peace.”
Her death comes five years after the passing of her father in 2020. Friends, family, and well-wishers have expressed their grief and shared fond memories of her kindness, business acumen, and community service.
Bisola’s contributions to society, business, and charity will not be forgotten. Her legacy will continue to inspire many.
