Gunmen have shot and killed Muhammad Adamu, the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The incident happened on Wednesday evening at Adamu’s residence. According to the Plateau State MACBAN Chairman, Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, Adamu was attacked shortly after breaking his fast.
“The assailants invaded his home and shot him multiple times. He died instantly,” Babayo said while confirming the killing to journalists in Jos.
He condemned the attack and called on security agencies to take swift action. “This is an unfortunate situation. We urge security forces to investigate and bring the culprits to justice,” he added.
The reason for the killing is not known. However, clashes between settler herdsmen and farmer indigenes are common in the Plateau and much of North Central Nigeria.
