The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a stern warning to students, parents, and the public to beware of fake portals and websites falsely linked to the Fund.
In a statement by the Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, she confirmed that NELFUND has only one official portal for student loan applications: www.nelf.gov.ng.
“Students and the public are advised to disregard any other links, websites, or messages claiming to offer access to the NELFUND Student Loan Scheme. Any platform other than www.nelf.gov.ng is unauthorized and should not be trusted,” Oluwatuyi said.

Mrs. Oluwatuyi stressed the importance of visiting verified platforms for accurate information. “For verified updates and official information, always visit www.nelf.gov.ng or follow our verified social media channels,” she added.

Oluwatuyi reassured the public, emphasizing that NELFUND remains steadfast in ensuring financial support reaches eligible Nigerian students through transparent and secure processes.
The Student Loan Scheme, introduced by the Nigerian Government, is designed to address Nigeria’s growing need for affordable student financing, as the government was no longer able to bear the cost of providing tertiary education.
