Captain America’s “Brave New World” has grossed almost ₦300 million in Nigeria’s theaters within three weeks.
According to the Nigerian Box Office, the movie added ₦43.9 million between February 28 and March 2, bringing its total earnings to ₦298 million. Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the film debuted with an impressive ₦137.5 million during its opening weekend, making it the biggest premiere of 2025 in Nigeria.
The film also achieved the highest box office figures for the weekend of February 14–16, showing Nigeria’s growing love for superhero films. Brave New World amassed ₦226 million within its first two weeks, adding ₦57.2 million between February 21 and 23.
While the film enjoyed success in Nigeria, it faces mixed reviews globally.

Directed by Julius Onah, the movie is Anthony Mackie’s first solo outing as Captain America. Despite topping the box office for three consecutive weekends internationally, grossing well over $15 million, Marvel Studios was worried that the film was overshadowed by the 2025 Academy Awards.
The film grossed $341.8 million worldwide, surpassing The Incredible Hulk and The Marvels. Yet, projections suggest it may only reach $400 million, similar to Eternals and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Critics have given it a 49% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences have been kinder, giving it an 80% approval score.
