Kenny Okulogbo, media consultant to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has dismissed sexual harassment allegations leveled against his principal by Senator Natasha Akpoti. He described the claims as “a tissue of lies.”
Senator Natasha Akpoti, who represents Kogi Central, made the allegations during an interview on Arise TV on Friday, February 28, 2025. She claimed that Akpabio made persistent advances towards her and, after she rejected him, deliberately frustrated her legislative work in the Senate.
According to Akpoti, the Senate President repeatedly blocked her motions from being heard. She said colleagues advised her to meet Akpabio privately to resolve the matter. When she visited his office, she alleged that Akpabio hinted she would receive benefits if she “took care of him.”
She claimed the harassment intensified after her refusal, making it difficult for her to perform her legislative duties.
Akpabio’s Camp Denies Allegations
In response, Okulogbo dismissed Akpoti’s claims, suggesting she was acting out of frustration over losing her Senate Committee position.
“All that Senator Natasha said are a tissue of lies. She is just angry because she was removed as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content,” Okulogbo said.
He assured the public that Akpabio would soon issue an official response.
“The Senate President will respond with an official statement soon,” he added.
