United Bank for Africa (UBA) has awarded 100 lucky customers over ₦41.8 million in prizes. The prizes were the latest part of UBA’s Legacy Promo, celebrating the bank’s 75 years of service.
The promo, which began in July 2024, was designed to reward loyal customers who have trusted UBA over the years. It was open to various categories of account holders, including Bumper Account holders, Savings account holders, Kiddies & Teens Account holders, and NextGen account holders.
Lucky Winners
Ten customers, including Olonade Funmilayo and Abdullahi Yunusa, won ₦1 million each in the Savings Account category. One of the winners, Mr. Oligbo Francis Azuka, was surprised at winning and excited when contacted over the phone.
“I am deeply grateful and surprised by this reward from UBA,” he said. “Honestly, I didn’t expect this. I really appreciate the fact that UBA recognized me.“
Twenty customers received ₦500,000 each, another 20 won ₦250,000 each, and ten customers won ₦100,000 each during the live draws.
In the NextGen category, ten customers won ₦180,000 each in pocket money for a year. The Kiddies and Teens category saw 20 young customers receiving ₦200,000 each in educational grants.
UBA’s Commitment
Shamsideen Fashola, UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, said, “UBA Legacy Promo is our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers who have trusted us over the years.“
He added, “We remain committed to deepening financial inclusion and providing innovative and customer-focused products and services. Our goal is to make banking more rewarding and life-changing, improving lives and building stronger communities.”
Over six months, from July to December 2024, UBA rewarded over 600 customers with prizes totaling more than ₦200 million. This remarkable initiative has created over 60 millionaires, highlighting the bank’s commitment to enriching the lives of its customers and promoting a savings culture.
