Ogun State Police Raise Alarm Over Rising Missing Persons Cases; Gives Tips on Safety

The Ogun State Police Command has expressed concern over the increasing number of missing persons in the state, affecting all age groups.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, only a small fraction of missing individuals have been found, while a significant number remain unaccounted for.

“As a proactive and community-oriented force, the Command is committed to raising public awareness about this concerning trend and encouraging everyone to prioritize their safety by maintaining a heightened sense of security as a way to avoid becoming a victim,” Odutola said.

To address this issue, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has outlined essential guidelines for residents. He advised parents to avoid using commercial transportation services for their children with unknown strangers.

Additionally, young people are encouraged to activate digital communication and sharing features on their mobile devices while travelling, especially during moments of distress.
