Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman‘s impressive form has seen his market value skyrocket to €55m, a mind-boggling €15m increase, according to football players’ statistics and valuation website, Transfermarkt.
This surge cements his position as Nigeria’s second most valuable player, surpassing Bayer Leverkusen‘s Victor Boniface (€45m) and trailing only Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen (€75m).
Lookman’s remarkable rise has captured the imagination of football fans and scouts worldwide.

Lookman, 27, recently won the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award, beating rivals Simon Adingra, Achraf Hakimi, Ronwen Williams, and Serhou Guirassy. The award recognizes his outstanding performances for both club and country.
He is also ranked 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or standings, further solidifying his reputation as one of Africa’s football greats.
Transfer Speculation
European giants PSG, Arsenal, and Liverpool expressed interest in Lookman last summer. However, Atalanta President Antonio Percassi has made it clear that the club intends to retain its star player, stating, “Our plan is not to change anything in the January window.“
This assertion may alleviate concerns among Atalanta fans, but it remains to be seen whether Lookman will stay or move to a new club as the offers roll in.

Transfermarkt’s Italy Area Manager, Jatin Dietl, praised Lookman: “He capped off his remarkable 2024 with the African Ballon d’Or, and rightly so. He has been in exceptional form and pivotal in Atalanta’s success.”
Lookman has had an incredible transformation. He scored a hat-trick in Atalanta’s 3-0 win over Leverkusen and helped his team lift the UEFA Europa League cup for the first time in decades.
Lookman’s Future
While Atalanta wants to retain its star player, Lookman’s future remains a topic of discussion.
His current valuation of €55m is increasing by €25m in the past year, representing an 83.33% surge. As the transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Lookman, eager to see what the future holds for this talented Nigerian winger.
