Mr Daniel Bwala, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media, says the president is undistracted by some politicians’ political posturing ahead of the 2027 general elections.
President Tinubu is constitutionally qualified to seek a second term in 2027.
Bwala said the president’s current focus is on “fulfilling campaign promises” he made to the Nigerian people.
Speaking to journalists at the National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, Bwala said the president’s top priority was governance and improving Nigerians’ lives, with politics being the least of his concerns.
“The time for politicking is not yet here. When it comes, we will be ready for everyone,” he said.
Bwala expressed confidence in Tinubu’s record, saying, “The president’s achievements will naturally endear Nigerians to vote for him again. He is fully qualified to seek a second term.”
Bwala added, “If God wills, and he has the health and life, we hope he will continue his mandate as outlined by the Constitution.”
Asked what he made of the recent loss of power by the ruling NPP in Ghana to the opposition, Bwala dismissed any worries. “That cannot happen here. Nigerians see the progress made under President Tinubu’s leadership,” he asserted.
