Joe Igbokwe, a loquacious non-indigene member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State, has advised all politicians with presidential ambitions to look beyond the 2027 election to actualize their aspirations.
He said this in a recent Facebook post: “There is no vacancy in Aso Rock until PBAT clears the huge and monumental Augean Stable that has accumulated for years.”
Igbokwe said he was confident President Bola Tinubu would continue as Nigeria’s president until 2027. “Those of you scheming and dreaming for 2027 should go and rest. Nigeria is being reworked to work again.”
This statement comes amid rumours that Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election, and Peter Obi from the Labour Party are considering an alliance to challenge Tinubu in 2027.
Perhaps it is this standard political alliance that Mr. Igbokwe outlandishly referred to as a conspiracy against the prescient. “There has been a funny/ crooked gang against PBAT come 2027. They have been calling my phones,” he claims but did not indicate who
Igbokwe humorously mentioned that the callers named the alleged schemers, saying, “I laughed until tears started coming out of my eyes. They do not know about PBAT.”
So far in Nigeria, only ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, from a minority tribe, has failed to get a second term. Other presidents, like Mr Tinubu, from one of the majority groups (Yoruba), tend to be strong enough to bulldoze their way into their second term, no matter how unpopular their regimes were.
