Gas Cylinder Explosion Rocks Katsina Filling Station; Several Vehicles Destroyed

A gas cylinder exploded at a filling station in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State on Friday afternoon.

The incident did not cause any casualties, but at least six vehicles were destroyed.

State police spokesman, Abubakar Sadiq-Aliyu, confirmed the incident.

He explained that police operatives from the Jibia Divisional Police Headquarters heard a loud explosion, prompting the Divisional Police Officer to lead a team to the scene in collaboration with military personnel.

Upon arrival, the team discovered a truck loaded with gas cylinders engulfed in flames at Tamal Filling Station along the Kagadama-Magamar Jibia Road. The joint team quickly implemented preventive measures to protect lives and minimize property damage, successfully extinguishing the fire.
