Trump Begins To Pull Away To Victory Although Latest Poll Show Race Still Tight

A new poll conducted by right-leaning Fox News reveals a shift in the 2024 U.S. presidential race, with Donald Trump pulling ahead of Kamala Harris for the first time by two percentage points.

The poll was conducted between October 11 and 14. It surveyed 1,110 registered voters and 870 likely voters, showing Trump at 50% to Harris’ 48%. This represents a 4-point swing from the previous month when Harris held a narrow lead.

However, Trump’s advantage remains within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Harris continues to lead Trump by six points in seven critical battleground states, highlighting the close competition.

This latest poll is Trump’s strongest showing since securing the Republican nomination.

The shift is primarily driven by Trump’s increasing support among white voters, who now favor him by 10 points, up from just 4 points in the previous month. Additionally, Trump has garnered significant backing from older voters and those with college degrees.

Meanwhile, Harris has seen her support among Black voters, college graduates, and voters aged 65 and older decline.

Democratic pollster Chris Anderson remarked, “The movement toward Trump is subtle but potentially consequential, especially if he is making gains among college-educated voters.” He added that the race remains within the margin of error, with the final result likely dependent on voter turnout.

As the election nears, both Trump and Harris have two-thirds of their supporters “extremely” motivated to vote, but Trump’s base appears more driven by support for him, with 80% saying they are voting for Trump rather than against Harris.

The polls remain highly competitive, with Trump making gains in several critical states while the race remains tight in others.

JolibaLive News! has predicted that Donald J. Trump of the Republic Party will win this year's U.S. Presidential election amid potentially serious debates and contentions about the electoral process.
