Denmark🇨🇭 and Switzerland🇨🇭 played out an entertaining 2-2 draw on Tuesday. Christian Eriksen ran the show for the Danes. He scored a goal and an assist, dooming the Swiss to wait for their first three points in their league campaign.
Switzerland took the lead in the 26th minute. After following a cross, Remo Freuler struck the loose ball past Danish keeper Kasper Schmeichel.
The lead did not last long, as two minutes later, Christian Eriksen lobbed a free kick that went into the oath of Gustav Isaksen, who struck it with a first-time volley into the back of the net.
Weather conditions were proving to be difficult as a dense fog cloud began to glide atop the pitch, but the game continued.
Switzerland got one back following a penalty taken by Zeki Amdounj after Breel Embolo was fouled. Defender Patrick Dorgu got a bit enthusiastic about recovering the ball.
Patrick Dorgu almost had a goal for Denmark following the presumption of the game, but his effort was ruled out following a VAR check.
Eriksen proved to be the hero, getting the equalizer for his nation after Pierre Emil Hojberg’s layoff and a beautifully struck low shot into the net.
Switzerland also scored a goal, but it was ruled out because the ball went off the play during the buildup to the goal.
Switzerland remains 4th on the table, with only one point, but Denmark stays second with seven points.
