Villa Park was in an uproar after the final whistle as a goal from striker Jhon Duran gave the Villains a sweet victory over six-time European Champions, FC Bayern Munich.

Serge Gnabry also missed a crucial opportunity, miskicking the ball when he only needed to feed Kane to score.
Villa also posed a significant threat, with Ollie Watkins looking to pounce on Bayern’s central defenders, Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min Jae. Pau Torres found the back of the net, but his goal was ruled out for offside.
Michael Olise drew a save from Emiliano Martinez with a curling shot, and Martinez recorded seven saves and a clean sheet. Substitute Jhon Duran lobbed Manuel Neuer to score Villa’s decisive goal.
This victory makes Aston Villa only the second English side to win their first two games in a Champions League season, following Leicester City. John Duran is now the highest-scoring substitute in all top five leagues with five goals.
Unai Emery said in a post-match statement, “I am very proud of everything around Aston Villa“. He joins Jose Mourinho as the only managers to have defeated Bayern Munich with three different clubs. Aston Villa also maintained their perfect record against Bayern Munich.
Looking ahead, Villa will face Italian side Bologna in the next round, while Bayern Munich will aim to bounce back in their clash against Barcelona.
