In the midst of a rancorous gubernatorial election in Edo State, Nigeria, this weekend, Nollywood star, Ini Edo, has sparked a silver lining in the skies by announcing her engagement and wedding.
The 42-year-old actress had previously married an American-based businessman, Philip Ehiagwina, on November 29, 2008, but the marriage later fell apart. She did not reveal the identity of her new fiancé, however, she has been publicly seen with fellow Nollywood actor Ik Ogbonna, performing love skits together.
Ini Edo shared the exciting news via a social media post, radiating happiness in a stunning dress. Writing of this unknown lucky prince, Ini said,
“That bright Sunday morning 6 months ago while on vacation, we crossed paths and our lives never remained the same. Exactly 3 months later you asked me to be with you forever. How did I get so lucky?“
Then delving into philosophical poetry, Ini Edo, born Iniobong Edo Ekim, remarked. “They say ‘Your flaws are perfect for the heart that is meant to love you’ | now believe this wholeheartedly. 1 of 3 done. My fairytale wedding is almost here.”
Known for her captivating performances, Ini Edo expressed her gratitude and excitement as she embarks on this new chapter of her life. She also shared an inspiring message “To anyone who has given up on their happily ever after, love will find you. And when it does, whether you’re ready or not, it’ll be the best thing that ever happened to you. #Loveisinfinite24,” she said.
