The Force Intelligence Department, FID, of the Nigeria Police Force reinvited President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero, to the Force Headquarters just 24 hours after he left.
The police have asked him to come on Thursday, September 5, this time with the General Secretary of the Union, Mr. Emma Ugboaja.
The Union boss was being investigated for possible criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felonies, subversion, and cybercrime. The police appear to suggest it has additional allegations of criminal intimidation, conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, and malicious damage to properties to which the Union bosses are to answer.
On Thursday, Union members mobilized and accompanied Mr Ajaero to the police office. He was later discharged only after 3 hours of interrogation.
Undeterred by the police’s actions, Ajaero told journalists after he left the police premises that the Nigerian worker would not be intimidated under his watch.
Nigerian Labour Congress has not issued any statement regarding the latest invitation.
