The Nigerian national team – the Super Eagles- has fallen to 39th place in the latest FIFA rankings, slipping one place from their previous rank of 38th.

Morocco ranked 14th in the world, retaining its status as the number one team in Africa, a position supported by its semi-final run in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Egypt is ranked 36th in the world, with Ivory Coast ranked 38th, placing them third and fourth in Africa, respectively.

Nigeria is among the top five countries in Africa, while Tunisia, Algeria, Cameroon, Mali, and South Africa are among the top ten.

Spain, the new Champions of Europe, has risen five places from eighth to claim third place globally. England, the runners-up, has improved its standing to fourth.

Argentina maintains its position at the top of the rankings after adding the 2024 Copa America trophy to its 2022 FIFA World Cup victory.
