JAMB Sets Minimum Cut-Off Score for 2024 Universities Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the official cut-off marks for the 2024 admission exercise into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

JAMB revealed the marks on Thursday at the policy meeting in Abuja, presided over by the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, and attended by key education sector stakeholders.

The policy meeting set a minimum score of 140 for university admission candidates and 100 for Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

The Board also clarified that there is no specific ‘cut-off mark‘ in the admission process for Nigerian tertiary institutions; instead, each institution determines its minimum tolerable score.

JAMB does not set a cut-off mark. We have a minimum benchmark score that any university cannot go below. Different universities have benchmark scores,” said JAMB Registrar Professor Ishaq Oloyede.
