A Catholic priest has branded Pope Francis as the “false prophet” and a “servant of Satan” and demanded that he resign from the papacy.
Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, who was the Vatican’s ambassador to the United States from 2011 to 2016, made the grave allegations. He has gone into hiding since 2018 after coming out openly to criticize the pope.
During the Covid pandemic of 2020, Bishop Vigano disputed the reality of the coronavirus and alleged it was a ploy to set in the global “Great Reset.”
He said the pope was “not a neutral spectator”, in the New World Order agenda, as some people may think, but is in fact “a serious cooperator who abuses his moral authority in order to support abextra outside the Church, the project of the dissolution of traditional society”.

He warned that the Pope is pursuing a “project of the demolition of the church in order to replace it with a philanthropical organization of masonic inspiration. It is scandalous”, he said.
The 83-year-old bishop also accused the pope of tacitly condoning sexual misconducts within the hierarchy of the church such as that of US Cardinal Theodore McCarrick.
Vatican Responds
The Vatican frowned at these allegations and set up a penal process to try the bishop. They found the bishop guilty of schism, and excommunicated and banished him from all church activities starting last Friday.
Schism is one of the gravest crimes in canon law and occurs when someone no longer subordinates himself to the authority of the Pope.
The Vatican statement said Vigano’s previous comments made it clear he refused “to recognize and submit” to the head of the Roman Catholic Church.
The statement read: “At the conclusion of the penal process, the Most Reverend Carlo Maria Vigano was found guilty of the reserved delict (violation of the law) of schism.”
Having been banished, Vigano is officially outside the church and can no longer celebrate or partake in its sacraments, such as communions.
The order was not signed directly by this Pope this time as is often the tradition. It was signed by the head of the Doctrine of the Faith Office. While the office sometimes signs decisions instead of the Pope, it is highly unlikely that this sentence was handed down to the bishop without the Pope’s approval.
Vigano Defiant
But Bishop Vigano, now one of the growing voices of concern regarding the direction of the church, is not giving up. He remained unapologetic and encouraged other Catholics to cry out too before it is too late, quoting Jesus from the New Testament: “If they keep quiet, the stones themselves will start shouting.”
Earlier last month, he chastised the Vatican’s proceedings against him and further accused Pope Francis of representing an “inclusive, immigrationist, eco-sustainable, and gay-friendly” church.
