Spain cruised to the quarterfinals after a comfortable 4-1 victory over Georgia, showing their supremacy and the reason they topped their group with three wins and three clean sheets.
Shockingly, Georgia landed the first punch in the 17th minute following a cross from the right-hand side, which was sadly turned in by Robin Le Normand as an own goal.
Spain quickly equalized, with Nico Williams delivering a perfect pass to Rodri, who fired it past the keeper, turning the tide of the match.
Fabian Ruiz then added to the scoreline following a super cross from teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, as he nodded it past the keeper to make it 2-1.
However, Georgia was not out of their misery as Nico Williams went on a linking run, beating his man and smashing it into the goal for Spain’s third of the night.
Dani Olmo sealed Georgia’s fate with a fourth goal, ensuring a convincing victory for Spain and a disappointing end for Georgia.
Spain will meet Germany in the quarterfinals on Friday. After Germany’s 2-0 victory over Denmark on Saturday, this promises to be a clash of titans.
