Three enterprising startups, Sabi, Nectar Fresh, and Meadow Foods, have embarked on a project designed to scale up the supply chain for cash crops such as cashews and shea nuts.
Sabi, a digital solution focused on solving the issues concerning supply chain logistics with digital solutions, teamed up with Nectar Fresh and Meadow Foods on this project tagged “Oyo State Aggregation Initiative.”
The project, taking place in Oyo, would utilize about 250,000 hectares of the Opara Forest and is set to produce estimates of up to 30,000 tonnes of cashew and 10,000 tonnes of shea nuts.

The three companies will pool investments of N52 million over the next year for the project, with the aim of not just scaling the supply of cash crops, but also creating employment opportunities for about 350 people in Oyo State.
Meadow Foods will supervise project management, and Q&A, and introduce tech into the initiative. At the same time, Nectar Fresh aims to work with community leaders and locals in the Opara Forest area to ensure the development and support of farmers and crops.
