Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo inaugurated a new Governing Council for the state university, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), in Awka today.
The new council comprises of Prof Chidi Odinkalu, a foremost constitutional and human rights lawyer, as Chairman and Pro-Chancellor, and Amb (Mrs) Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the erstwhile Biafran head of State.
The government’s list shows other members to include Chief Christopher Ndubuisi and HRH Oranu Chris Chidume, and others drawn from the university’s senate.
Soludo said the state has entrusted the new members with the “responsibility of repositioning the university for greatness”.
He said he was confident that the team he picked, are “people of pedigree and impeccable professionalism” who will serve with “utmost dignity.”

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University is located in Igbariam in Anambra East local government area, but it also has campuses at Uli, Alor, and a medical school in Nnewi.
