A drug reaction may have been responsible for the death of the late Nigerian rapper and composer Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as MOHBAD, according to a report of an autopsy and toxicology test performed on his body.
Mohbad passed away under controversial circumstances on September 12, 2023.
It was reported that samples of the late singer’s blood, bone marrow, liver, kidney, and lungs were obtained and sent for medical examinations at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja after his burial.
Although Mohbad was born a Muslim, many had considered his burial the day after his death as hurried. His body was exhumed on 21 September 2023.

The Autopsy Report
The test report detected small amounts of diphenhydramine – an antihistamine and sedative mostly used to treat allergies, sleeplessness, and common cold symptoms. It might be administered intramuscularly or taken orally.
However, the autopsy report noted that the drug’s concentration was insufficient to be a definitive cause of death.
This is made it the second time an autopsy on the late singer will be conducted. In June, an autopsy by Professor Sunday Soyemi of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine at the Lagos State University College of Medicine was inconclusive. His report could not definitely ascertain the cause of death.

He Lives On
So even in death, Mohbad continues to tread on controversy, from fellow singers fingered around the circumstances of his death, to allegations of paternity fraud against his wife.
MohBad, “one of the greatest rappers in the whole world,” died at the young age of 27.
