Simone Inzaghi‘s Nezazzuri (Inter Milan) lifted their 20th Serie A title on Tuesday. They snatched 2-1 victory off their rivals AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Goals from Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram gave Inter a deserved lead. But the 80th minute goal by Fikayo Tomori in the second half, halved the deficit for AC Milan.
During extra time, red cards were shown to Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez. It brought Milan to 9 men and crippled any chance they could square up the goal line.
The derby win has given Inter one leg up over their AC rival for the sixth time in a row. The trophy secures Inter as the club with the second-highest titles. Juventus has the most with 36 titles and AC Milan at 3rd with 19.
Throughout the Serie A season, Inter lost only one match.
