Donald Trump, running for second term as President of the United States is advocating a return or revival to American traditional Christian foundations.
Trump is currently the presumptive Republican Party nominee for the upcoming Presidential election in November this year having swept off all his rivals from the contest.
In a video he just released on his Truth Social platform on Tuesday, Trump remarked that “Religion and Christianity are the biggest things missing from this country. And I truly believe that we need to bring them back and we have to bring them back fast.
“I think it’s one of the biggest problems we have. That’s why our country is going haywire. We’ve lost religion in our country.”
Trump went on to say, “We love God and we have to protect anything that is pro-God”, then concluded with a twist of his campaign slogan, saying “We must make America pray again”.
Endorsing God Bless America Bible
Trump urged his supporters to buy the new “God Bless the USA Bible,” produced by his friend and gospel and country singer, Lee Greenwood. Lee’s popular song, “patriotic ballad” is used by Trump to take to the stage in all his rallies.
“All Americans need a Bible in their homes”, said Trump in the video, “and I have many. It’s my favourite book. It’s a lot of people’s favourite book,’ he adds.
The God Bless the U.S.A Bible costs $59.99, including shipping and handling inside the United States.
Trump’s endorsement of the new Bible comes as the former president faces serious cash crunch and mounting legal bills. It’s not known if he has a financial interest in the book, but Greenwood denies he does.
The website says the Bible is not funding Trump’s presidential campaign, noting it is “not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign”.
It clarified that “GodBlessTheUSABible.com is not owned, managed or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, CIC Ventures LLC or any of their respective principals or affiliates”.
But it does admit Trump’s CIC Ventures licensed it to use Trump’s name, likeness and image. But for a fee?
The God Bless America Bible can be bought from the website, GodBlessTheUSABible.com. The website features a picture of Trump and Greenwood together in the Oval Office.
On the cover of the Bible are the words “Holy Bible” and “God Bless the USA” and an embossed design based on the US flag.
The website promotes the book as “the only Bible endorsed by President Trump!”
The Bible’s “large print” and its “slim design” make the book “‘easy-to-read” according to the website, and it “‘invites you to explore God’s Word anywhere, any time”.

The Trump-endorsed Bible includes the King James Version translation, with copies of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance, as well as a handwritten chorus of the famous Greenwood song.
“Happy Holy Week! Let’s Make America Pray Again. As we lead into Good Friday and Easter, I encourage you to get a copy of the God Bless the USA Bible”, Trump said in the video as Easter approach.
Trump is the favourite among U.S. evangelical Christians.
In June 2020, Trump famously marched out of the White House and across Lafayette Square, and posed outside the historic St John’s Church while holding a Bible up in the air.
A reporter asked him, “Is that your Bible?“
To which Trump replied, “It’s a Bible”.
The Bible remains the best-selling book in the world of all time.
