Terrorists may hit mosques, churches and public centres around the period of Eid Kabir holidays, says Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State Services (DSS).
The Service says its recovery of improvised explosive devices from terrorists during recent joint operations with the military was a pointer to this.
During an operation on 19 June at Keffi, Nasarawa State, at least 22 primed IEDs and several rounds of ammunition were recovered, in addition to similar recoveries made in other operations elsewhere.
It advised malls, worship centres and areas of high human traffic to up their security surveillance and vigilance during the period and report suspicious movements and persons to relevant security agencies.
