Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has congratulated Aminat Yusuf, the young lady who came tops with an amazing Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 (First Class Honors) to break a 40-year record at the law faculty of Lagos State University (LASU).
Mr Obi said Aminat proves that “excellence is not a function of religion, gender or location on the national compass“, and that her feat shows the “limitless possibilities open to the girl child” in Nigeria.
The Muslim, Hijab-wearing Miss Aminat has had encomiums pouring in from several quarters. Vice-Chancellor (VC) of her school, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, described her as “LASU’s best-graduating student in history.”
State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu gifted her with N10 million.
Aminat is from the local host Iba community of the school, which honoured her with a grand reception and a cash gift of N2 million.
