Shun #EndSARS, Fight for Biafra – Asari Dokubo to Niger-Delta

Former Niger-Delta warlord, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo has described the #EndSARS protest sweeping through Nigeria as a “waste of time” for his Niger-Delta region.

Asari-Dokubo, an Ijaw from Rivers State was head of the militant group, Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF) which fought the central government in the 2000’s for the right of the region to its vast oil resources.

He said the region was better off in an independent sovereign nation of Biafra with the Igbos and other eastern minority sister tribes.

There is nothing to restructure or remodel about Nigeria. Instead of wasting our (Niger Deltans) time in cooperating with the Yorubas and Igbos in ENDSARS or restructuring protests, the only solution as Niger Delta people is to team together with the Ogonis and the Igbos and Efiks and reinvent Biafra because nobody can oppress the Ijaw man in Biafra”.

What we need to do is to seek ye first the political kingdom and every other thing will be added to you because you will control and hold your oil.

“Anything else is not going to work unless we stand up and fight for Biafra. Anybody talking about restructuring, Niger Delta republic or an Ibo Biafra is an enemy of our people because Biafra most surely comes whether you like it or not.

Nigerian has witnessed 12th straight days of youth protests in most southern cities of Nigeria, disrupting many public services.

The youths alleged widespread police brutality and extra-judicial killings.

But the mostly Muslim north where the current president comes from appear to have cold feet but instead is opting for its own milder protest for more action against terrorism and banditry in the region.

President Buhari’s acceded to the request of youths to disband the infamous Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), called for calm, deployed soldiers on the streets – none of which has so far doused the brewing restiveness in the country.
