Prophet Ayodele Predicts Tinubu May Return Capital to Lagos

Primate Elijah Ayodele has said President Bola Tinubu could relocate Nigeria’s capital from Abuja to Lagos if he wins the 2027 presidential election.

The founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church made the prediction in a video shared on X, where he spoke about Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ayodele said Lagos would undergo major structural changes if Tinubu returns to office.

“Lagos architecture will change. You may not see this one very seriously, but if Tinubu wins the second time, the capital of Nigeria will be relocated to Lagos,” he said.

He added that the new capital could be anywhere in Lagos State.

“When this happens, the capital can be in Epe or Lekki or anywhere at all in Lagos,” he said.

Ayodele’s comments are a prediction and do not show that the Tinubu administration has announced or planned any such relocation.

Nigeria’s capital was moved from Lagos to Abuja in 1991 to give the country a more central seat of government.

Any plan to shift it back would require major constitutional and political steps, not a campaign statement or public prediction.

Tinubu is seeking re-election in the 2027 presidential poll on the APC platform, and the cleric’s comment adds a fresh layer of speculation around that contest.
