The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Africa Business Center on Monday announced the three finalists of its inaugural Africa Digital Innovation Competition, with the top competitors hailing from Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. 

The three companies include GrowAgric, Shopa and Healthbotics, chosen from 10 continental finalists, were first selected from 17,000 candidates in 50 African countries.

Intended to “promote talent in the African region,” the contest highlights innovators that have developed digital solutions to improve lives in their communities, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Winners of the competition will be announced in December at the U.S.-Africa Leaders’ Summit and Business Forum in Washington.

Finalists

Kenya-based GrowAgric is a farmers-first agriculture technology startup whose platform seeks to help small and medium-scale farms produce and earn better.

Shopa is a Ghanaian business-to-business e-commerce company and financial services application that allows informal groceries to source inventory and access fast delivery services.

Healthbotics is a medical delivery service in Nigeria which acts as a single access point connecting health facilities to suppliers and manufacturers of essential medical supplies.
